Today, December 25, Christmas Day, the Epic Games Store is treating gamers to Death Stranding free. The well-above-average number of visits caused Epic Games' servers to crash and caused the platform to malfunction, prompting it to switch back to the base game version shortly thereafter.

As you can see in the images below, the version was previously available Death Stranding Director's Cut, but due to a bug and server issues, the game has switched to *Death Stranding*, and anyone who tries to restore the other version will have to pay.

Many users are reporting server issues, while a few lucky ones have already been able to pick up *Death Stranding Director’s Cut* from the store without any problems. If you continue to experience issues, just wait a bit—the situation should return to normal soon.

If you’re unable to claim the game for free from the Epic Games Store, you’re not the only one having trouble. Despite the instability on Epic’s servers and in the store, the game will remain free until 1:00 p.m. Brasília time tomorrow, the 26th, giving you nearly 24 hours to claim the game for free.
