Starting today, Thursday, September 21, players who already own the Cyberpunk 2077 will have the opportunity to try out all the new features of their Update 2.0. Those who play the current version of the game on the PC and that only meet the minimum requirements may need to upgrade to take full advantage of the experience.
As announced by the CD Projekt RED In June of this year, the update will raise the system requirements for running the RPG. This decision was made to ensure a more precise match with the hardware needed to provide an excellent experience in the open world created by the company.
With this update, Cyberpunk 2077 will no longer recommend using HDDs as a viable storage solution. It will still be possible to use them to run the game, but players who don't have an SSD may experience performance issues and significantly longer load times than expected.

More news about Phantom Liberty
The developer noted that performance may vary depending on hardware specifications. The recommendations are based on the company’s internal tests, which cannot cover all hardware available on the market. CD Projekt RED also recommends that players check the condition of their cooling systems to prevent overheating during gameplay.
It’s important to note that an upgrade may be necessary not only to take advantage of Update 2.0, but also to enjoy the “Phantom Liberty” expansion, which is scheduled to launch on September 26. This expansion will introduce a new explorable area in the game, a new attribute tree called Relic, and a variety of additional weapons, characters, and missions.
