A Microsoft has reversed its decision and will maintain the benefit of the Game Pass Ultimate free for the company's approximately 238,000 employees. The situation was reviewed in person by Phil Spencer, division president Xbox. The The Verge released this information last Friday (the 3rd).

Previously, there were reports that the company would cancel the free Game Pass Ultimate subscription for all employees starting in 2024, which sparked outrage and complaints. In an internal memo, Spencer assured employees that, after careful review, he had decided to maintain the benefit next year, thanking them for their understanding and apologizing for the confusion caused.

Microsoft employees have enjoyed this benefit since 2019, including access to Xbox Live Gold, which has been replaced by Game Pass Core. According to The Verge, the decision to remove Game Pass Ultimate was likely made by the Human Resources department without consulting the Xbox division.
