Controversies: Allegations of Plagiarism and the Use of AI
Recently, negative criticism has intensified, mainly regarding allegations that Palworld is a copy of Pokémon and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the game’s development. A user on X (Twitter) pointed out the similarities between the Pal characters and the iconic Pokémon, while players accuse the studio of incorporating AI into the game.
In 2022, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe praised the potential of AI in content creation, but he is now facing criticism regarding Palworld. It is alleged that the game not only resembles Pokémon but also makes questionable use of AI.
Palworld Is a Hit on Steam
Despite the controversies, Palworld has emerged as one of Steam's biggest hits. The game was recently released for PC and, in just three days, achieved impressive numbers, surpassing even renowned titles such as Counter-Strike, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring.
With more than 1,582,482 concurrent players, Palworld continues to break records on Valve’s platform, cementing its status as a massive hit. Although it faces criticism and accusations, the game demonstrates its significant impact on the gaming community, rivaled only by giants like PUBG.
