Cities: Skylines 2 is scheduled to be released on October 24 on the PC, and according to the Paradox Interactive, you'll need to reserve at least 60 GB of storage space on disk to accommodate the new game, while the original version, released in 2015, recommended only 4 GB. This means the new edition will be more than 12 times larger. It’s important to note that the 2015 game currently takes up much more space than the originally recommended 4 GB, due to numerous updates and expansions over the years (Steam now recommends 15 GB).

The same increase in size is expected for *Cities: Skylines 2*, as an expansion pass and a set inspired by the city of San Francisco have already been confirmed by Paradox Interactive. Cities: Skylines 2 will not offer pre-loading
The publisher also stated that it will not offer pre-loading. This means that players who purchase the game will have to start the download only after it becomes available on Steam.
This week, Paradox Interactive announced that the PC release of Cities: Skylines 2 may be affected by performance issues. The company claims that, because it is a “next-generation” experience, its developers have not yet been able to optimize it as desired.
They also announced that, unlike its predecessor, the game will not use Steam Workshop as a means of distributing mods. Mods for the game, which is still in beta testing, will be made available through the new Paradox Mods platform, which will be compatible with PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
