Last Friday, October 27, the Microsoftannounced a significant increase in the price of the Xbox Series S on the Brazil. Currently selling for about R$ 2,649, the suggested retail price will rise to R$ 3,599 in the coming weeks, according to an official statement from the company.

Since the price change was announced, the console's price has been adjusted several times, according to reports from the community. Even though, at the time of this article, the displayed price is R$ 2,649, Microsoft has reaffirmed that the price will be updated in the coming weeks, and the official Xbox website will reflect the new suggested retail price.

Following the announcement of the price change, which took place about a month before Black Friday, there was a significant outpouring of discontent from many gamers on social media. A fan campaign is underway on Twitter, attempting to draw the attention of the brand’s top executives, such as Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond, in the hope of reversing the decision.

Microsoft remains silent

So far, however, both the company’s executives and its Brazilian division have remained silent on social media, which has caused confusion among the public. Xbox Brazil’s public relations team was unequivocal in stating that the price of the Xbox Series S will, in fact, be adjusted in Brazil.

Despite hopes that the decision would be reversed, no official date has been set for the implementation of the new price for the Xbox Series S in Brazil. The new prices are expected to take effect in the coming weeks. In the meantime, it’s still possible to find the console priced around R$ 2,300 on e-commerce sites, such as Amazon.
