Experimental Features of Trails & Tales
The Sniffer and Archaeology features—coming to Minecraft 1.20, now known as Trails & Tales—are now available for testing! The Sniffer and Archaeology are two experimental features you can try out in this version.
Archaeology
- Added the "Brush" item;
- Added the "Decorated Pot" block;
- Four ceramic fragments were added (arms raised, skull, trophy, and archer);
- Added the suspicious sand block;
- "Suspicious Sand" Added to the Desert Temple;
- Suspicious sand was added to the desert well.
Brush
- The Brush is a crafted item that you can use to brush things.
Ceramic shards and decorated pots
- Pottery shards have pictures on them. They cannot be crafted and must be found in the world;
- You can also use brick items instead of ceramic shards in the crafting recipe. Sides made from brick items will not have images;
- Smash a decorated pot with any block-breaking tool to break it and collect the ceramic shards! Or tap it with your fist to pick up the pot without breaking it.
Suspicious Sand
- Desert Temples and Desert Wells now contain Suspicious Sand. This fragile block is hard to spot and easy to destroy;
- If you can find the Suspicious Sand and brush it with your Brush, you'll unearth objects that have been buried for a long time.
Mob Sniffer
- Sniffer is the winner of the Minecraft Live 2022 mob vote;
- They cannot be tested or tamed;
- They are passive, friendly mobs;
- The sniffer sniffs the air and occasionally digs for seeds.
Torchflower
- The Torchflower seed can be planted in farmland and grows into a flower;
- The seed can be used to create two Sniffers;
- It can be harvested and replanted, but it can also be used to make dye.
