You know that app update you didn't like or that crashed your phone? We'll show you how you can make outdatedthe app or downgrade an Android app. Not all developers make older versions available, which is why we'll have to look for them on third-party websites.

How to Downgrade an App

Before we begin, please note that if it’s an app that requires a password—like Facebook—make sure you still remember the password. If it’s a game or an app that uses storage—like WhatsApp or Minecraft—back it up first, as this process will erase its data.

  • Let's get started. First, check which version of the app is installed on your phone at Settings > Apps > select the app you want > Version or at Advanced and scroll down until his version appears.
  • After checking the version, uninstall the app you want to downgrade;
  • Visit the website apkmirror.comand in the site's search bar, type the name of the app you want;
  • It will list all available versions of the app, starting with the newest and working backward to the older ones.
  • Do you remember the version you had installed before? If so, search for the app on APKMirror and download a version earlier than the one you had.
  • Install the app you downloaded. If it asks for permission to install apps from unknown sources, grant it. You can also enable this option in Settings > Security > Unknown Sources and enable it, then confirm.
  • Once you've gone through this entire process and the installation is complete, just open the app and check that everything is working properly. You may need to log in again; just sign in to your account using your credentials. If it's a game, remember to restore a backup of it.
