According to the website, the new model promises “significant upgrades” over its previous version, incorporating technologies and design elements from the brand’s latest models.

The latest smartphone in this line was released in March 2022, and the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be released next year. However, there are rumors that Apple may revise its plans and move the release date up to the second half of 2024.

The design of the new entry-level iPhone will be heavily inspired by the iPhone 14. This suggests that the device will feature a larger 6.1-inch display (compared to the iPhone SE 3’s 4.7 inches), eliminating the physical Home button to increase the usable screen area.
This change marks the model's departure from the compact smartphone category, which may disappoint fans of smaller devices. However, the phone is expected to retain a single rear camera setup.

The iPhone SE is also expected to include Face ID, allowing users to unlock the device and authenticate themselves via facial recognition.
Another expected change is the replacement of the Lightning port with a USB-C port, a recent shift in Apple's product line driven by the European Union's regulatory requirement for a standardized connector among major electronics manufacturers.
