As the WWDC from Apple As June approaches, rumors are beginning to surface about possible new features for the iOS 17. On Twitter, a new leak claims to offer an overview of Apple's plans for iOS 17, but unfortunately, it doesn't provide many specific details.

A very vague leak

The leak comes from the user “analyst941” on Twitter, who shared accurate information about Dynamic Island before the launch of the iPhone 14 Pro last year. Despite this, he is not a leaker with a proven track record of accurate leaks over several years. The lack of specific details in this rumor makes us question its veracity. Therefore, it’s important to treat this rumor with skepticism until more information is released.

According to the source, iOS 17 will support all iPhone models compatible with the iOS 16. However, there are questions about the device's compatibility iPadOS 17, and the source suggests that iPads equipped with A9 and A10 Fusion chips may be phased out this year. The leak states that “performance, efficiency, stability, and long-term support for older devices are the key features of this update.”.

“What's New” in development:

  • Additional settings for the iPhone 14 Pro's always-on display;
  • Additional filters for focus modes;
  • “Settings and additional options” for managing notifications;
  • Custom accessibility mode;
  • “Car Key ”improvements“ and ”more cars added to the Wallet app”;
  • Changes to the user interface in the Health app, including changes to the “Favorites” interface;
  • “Highly enhanced” features for search and highlighting;
  • “An absolute giant among ARKit APIs and frameworks”;
  • “Ilha Dinâmica will do much more”;
  • “Changes to the Camera app; they were initially planned for the launch of the iPhone 14 Pro and MAY be implemented only in the iPhone 15”s operating system, rather than on all iOS 17 devices.”

More features in testing:

Last but not least, the leak suggests that Apple is testing “active widgets” that could include one-touch buttons, sliders, and other features to make widgets more dynamic. However, the source notes that this feature is still in the testing phase and has not been officially confirmed.

Unfortunately, that’s the extent of the leak. While it describes some general areas where Apple is reportedly focusing its efforts with iOS 17, it doesn’t offer many specific details. As mentioned earlier, it’s important to approach this rumor with a healthy dose of skepticism. Apple will officially announce iOS 17 in less than two months during WWDC 2023.
