It's not very convenient to keep adding all those phone numbers as contacts, which makes your address book cluttered and disorganized. We'll show you how to do this on both the web and your cell phone.
On a computer (WhatsApp Web):
- Make sure you're signed in to WhatsApp Web. Open web.whatsapp.com to confirm;
- Write down or copy the phone number with the country code, but without adding “+” or “00.” For example, if it’s a number from Brazil, use +55 and your phone number is 11-98880-9888, it will look like this: 5511988809888without the marks and symbols;
- Add it to the end of the following link: https://web.whatsapp.com/send?phone=the number as explained above;
- It will look like this example: https://web.whatsapp.com/send?phone=5511988809888
- Copy and paste it into your web browser and press Enter. WhatsApp Web will load and open the chat window for that phone number.
On your cell phone (Android or iPhone):
We use the same rule as above, but the link is different and shorter:
- Write down or copy the person's full phone number. You'll also need the country code (Brazil +55) without the area code. +;
- For example, the number is 11-98880-9888, then you leave out the area code and add the 55, like this: 5511988809888
- Open the web browser on your phone—it could be Google Chrome on Android or Safari on an Apple device;
- Enter the following link into your browser, followed by the phone number you copied. It will look like this: wa.me/5511988809888
- Press the Enter key or the Go button. The link will be selected, and the WhatsApp app will open automatically to the chat window.
Now you can start sending messages to a WhatsApp user without having their phone number saved in your contacts.
